My approach to Newborn, Maternity and Family Photography is known as ‘Lifestyle Photography’. For me, Lifestyle Photography is all about authenticity, reality and telling the story of your life.

There is something so beautiful and natural about being pregnant. It is so precious and special, which is why having professional photographs is a great way to honour such a time in your life. Maternity photography works really well in your own home, especially if you and your partner are wanting some more intimate images. Alternatively, we can go for a gentle walk at a really gorgeous location. Going for a walk works really well if you are already a family and want to include your little ones. I would be happy to talk through any other ideas you may have.
Although Lifestyle Photography is my approach to Maternity sessions, I may need to give you a little guidance to get those desirable images.

I love shooting Newborns in their home environment with parents and family members just going about their usual business, as it allows me to capture those natural, authentic moments. I love to capture that look that parents have when they are absolutely besotted with their new little bundle and those feelings of warmth and contentment.
If you are considering a Newborn shoot with the lifestyle approach, but worried about the house and whether you’ll have the energy to clean and tidy beforehand – please don’t! That pile of laundry in the corner, dishes stacking by the sink or endless Muslin’s strewn across the sofa are all part of the story. Having a lifestyle Newborn shoot can help put you at ease as you will be in the comfort of your own home and have everything you need for your new baby to hand.

If you have read my about me page, you’ll know that I’ve grown up surrounded by photographs of loved ones and as a new mum I cannot believe how quickly my little baby has grown. I am already fearful that she will be all grown up in the blink of an eye. So, for me, family photographs are so important to capture moments and memories in time that can be revisited and spoken about forever.
My favourite way to capture your family is on a walk where the kids can run free or in the familiarity of your own home where you can relax and be yourselves.
