frequently asked

questions

What area do you cover?

I am based in Bedfordshire, but I will travel all over the UK to photograph Weddings.

Do you photograph destination Weddings?

Absolutely. I love to travel and experience new cultures. All you need to do is pick your chosen Wedding Collection and cover flights, two night’s accommodation and a rental car for me. If a second shooter is required, flights and accommodation will also need to be covered by you. Details of this can be discussed further when you enquire.

How far in advance do we need to book you?

I would recommend you book at least 18 months, to a year in advance. This is especially important if you are having a Friday or Saturday Wedding, because of their popularity I tend to get booked up quickly.

Don’t panic if it is less than a year before your wedding day, still get in touch to check my availability.

Do you take a deposit?

Yes, I take a 30% deposit for my Wedding Packages, in order to secure your date. The remaining balance is due six weeks prior to your wedding date.

Alternatively, monthly payment plans are available, once your deposit is received the balance can be paid equally over the remaining months on an agreed day that suits you. If you wish to reduce your monthly payments, then you may pay a larger deposit.

How do we enquire/book?

All you need to do is complete the form on my contact page and once this enquiry is received, I will be in touch. Alternatively, you can contact me directly via email or telephone (these details can be found on the contact page on my website).

I will check my availability for your chosen Wedding date, from there we can arrange to meet up or speak via telephone to talk about your vision for your wedding day and ask any questions you may have. Then, if you would like to go ahead and book, I will send you over the booking form and get really excited to photograph your special day!

I am always at the end of an email or telephone call if you have any questions at any point of your planning process.

Do we have to have an Engagement shoot?

No, of course not. I wouldn’t make you do anything you didn’t want to do. I offer engagement shoots in my collections in order for us to spend more time together before your big day and to help you feel at ease in front of the camera. Though, it is my recommendation that you take advantage of the opportunity.

Can we swap the Engagement shoot in our package for more time on the day or for something else?

As a rule I say no to this, this is because the engagement shoot I offer in my Wedding Collections are complimentary and I include them for the sole purpose of giving you both the opportunity to become more comfortable in front of the camera and for us to get to know each other better before your Wedding Day.

Should we book a second photographer?

I think having a second shooter is always a good idea, especially if you have a large number of guests attending. Having a second shooter allows your Wedding Day to be covered from two perspectives, with one of us being with each of you throughout your preparations through to your ceremony, covering those moments that either of you won’t see. It also allows for more photographs of your guests having fun, from different perspectives, filling in the parts of your day that you don’t always see.

All Photographers I use to support me on your day are established with their own wedding photography business. All second shooters are booked for the entirety of the day.

Will you require a meal on the day?

If you are able to provide me with a hot meal, I would be ever so grateful (if you have booked a second photographer, they would love one too). Most venues will discuss supplier meals with you if you are unsure.  Please let me know if you won’t be able to provide us with one, so I can bring a sandwich or two!

Do you have a break on the day?

I take a break and a bite to eat whilst you are enjoying your Wedding Breakfast – no one wants a photograph when they have a mouthful of food. I prefer to sit in a different room from you to give you and your guests some space and to allow myself some time to recharge.

How long will it take to get our photographs?

Please allow up to 12 weeks for the delivery of your online Wedding Gallery. I take a considerable number of images on your day, all of which need to go through post-production. This is where I cull the images to pick the best ones and get rid of the ones where people may have their eyes closed or any rogue bunny ears. I then hand edit them to achieve my signature style. This is not a process to be rushed and I take great care and consideration during the post-production of your images. I always endeavour to get your wedding gallery to you quicker than the 12 weeks, however, during busy periods it may be that the full 12 weeks are required.

Are you insured?

Yes, I have public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

What happens if you are ill on the day?

I would have to be seriously poorly to not attend your wedding day. However, should this ever happen, I have a strong network of good photographers that I can call upon to fill in for me at short notice.
